Don’t be reluctant to add pinners if you need to. Anyone on the team can delete
pinners and even block them if you have an issue. You won’t be stuck with pinners
if they leave or cause a problem.

                           Creating secret boards

Does the title grab your interest? Secret boards sound so mysterious. They are
really a great tool for personal or business use. Secret boards are just what they
sound like. They are boards that only you and your chosen friends can see; they
aren’t public. Imagine the possibilities for you and your collaborators! You can
create projects and keep them under wraps. Then you can unveil them when
you’re ready or keep them permanently secret. How about a board for new product
development or perhaps one for personal dream trips you’ll take?

After users got the hang of it, they found all sorts of ways to utilize secret boards
for holiday shopping lists, secret wish boards, and more. Pinterest now lets you
create up to 500 secret boards any time. We doubt that you’ll have that many
secrets, but it’s worth a try!

To create your secret board, create a board as you do normally and check the Keep
                           This Board Secret box.

            Developing Credibility with Your

            Boards and Images

This section explores the types of images that you should consider for your
business. Obviously, you want to choose images that are colorful and convey the
essence of your brand. Pinterest has several kinds of pins that you can create, as
                           follows:

» Image pins: JPGs or videos, which make up the majority of pins you see.
» Promoted pins: Pins you pay for. We provide more details in the section
“Experimenting with promoted pins,” later in this chapter.
» Rich pins: These pins allow you to add extra information that makes it easier
for customers to find your pins. Use them liberally. The four types of rich
                                pins are:
                                • Product: These show pricing and where you can buy the product.
                                • Recipe: These show ingredients, serving sizes, and cooking times.
