Building customer loyalty through brand building:

Research suggests that 79% of customers would be willing to switch
to a competitor within a week of experiencing poor customer service.
Customer loyalty remains achievable but it has to be earned. Tapping into
common values, proactive personalization, and consistent engagement
are practical methods that retailers can employ to build a strong brand
image that resonates with customers for the long term.

Defining the right push and pull strategies for your
niche:
Retailers generally use a mixture of both push and pull strategies to
increase awareness and sales of their products and services. How that mix
is formulated depends on your target audience. Look at the different ways
that Microsoft and Apple are perceived - a lot of this is down to the two
companies’ differing approaches to push and pull marketing.
When Microsoft launches a new feature, it is quick to “push” it in front
of consumers, as the company did recently with its newest Microsoft
Editor release. Apple generally prefers a “pull” strategy where long-
term customers stick with the brand due to the values it promotes.
Both strategies can work for retailers - it all depends on the product and
audience.
