Although a Tumblr blogger can see his or her own follower numbers from the
dashboard, bloggers can’t see follower numbers of other people’s blogs. Knowing
this fact should help you get over that feeling of being new and unestablished
yourself. By contrast, on platforms like Twitter, it’s hard to miss follower numbers.

Observing other blog successes

As with other platforms, you always want to see who is successful and why.
Tumblr is no exception. So what are some of the top business Tumblr blogs?
Brands that typically generate buzz on Tumblr include Disney, Facebook, Apple,
Nike, and Nintendo.

When you think about the visual nature of Tumblogs, it’s no surprise that design-
conscious brands like Disney and Apple are succeeding. If you look at Disney’s
Tumblr blog (http://disney.tumblr.com/), you see that it posts animations,
videos, and photos of its properties. It’s a natural winner.

So where else should you look to see successful blogs? Check out https://www.
tumblr.com/search, as shown in Figure 15-12. When you click the link, you’re
shown recommended blogs. Blogs are listed that are suggested by the topics you
have already searched. Look around and see what intrigues you.
