HOW TOP MERCHANTS CREATE THE BEST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
“Only parts would load or it wasn’t complete. We’d have
individuals jump off, and they obviously wouldn’t convert,”
Elggren says.
Shoppers would reach out to Andar’s customer service team and
on social media, complaining of not being able to purchase the
product. Since implementing the technology, Andar has not had
these issues anymore.
The brand also surveys shoppers after they purchase, asking what
the retailer could improve. Previously, shoppers would complain
about the site not fully loading, but it does not receive those types
of comments anymore, he says.
The largest improvement was to Andar’s homepage, which
decreased its load time 73%. The site continues to be fast even
with Andar.com’s website traffic increasing each year. For example,
sessions are up 70% in the first nine months of 2022 compared
with that period in 2021, Elggren says.
Elggren says it took about two weeks from signing the contract
to implementing the technology. It costs Andar.com $3,750 per
month to use the technology.
Andar.com is faster because the technology moves less data
over a short distance, says Edgemesh CEO Jacob Loveless. For
example, Edgemesh compresses the images and other assets on 1.9 seconds
the ecommerce site. The vendor also uses a global network of
servers in 280 cities to run its technology. Using the shoppers’
IP addresses, it knows the geographic location from where the Andar.com’s average
shopper is visiting the site and can run its technology from a server load time after
closer to the shopper. Just from the physical closeness of the implementing the
server and the shopper, the site will run faster, Loveless says. new software.
