Succeeding with Millennials
One way to determine the best marketing tactics to use with Millennials is to look
at the retailers that are currently succeeding in their efforts. According to Business
Insider, (https://www.businessinsider.com/top-100-brands-according-to-
millennials-from-netflix-to-walmart-2019-8#1-amazon-105), the top five
retailers chosen by Millennials are Amazon, Apple, Nike, Walmart, and Target.
Hitting the target
Target (one of the top five brands mentioned in the previous section) is going all
in on a bet that the “Millennial family” is its audience. It’s partnering with the
underwear brand Jockey on a new line of intimates called the Jockey Generation
that will be carried exclusively in Target stores. Target will sell such items as
t-shirts, socks, and loungewear, as shown in Figure 17-3. They are using
innovative fabrics like those made from plastic bottles and will be giving a
portion of each sale to the Jockey Family Foundation that educates and supports
adoptive families. By all accounts, they have put all the right pieces in place to
